Pipes of Praise: Christmas Benefit Concert Starring Emmet Cahill

Join us on November 26, 2022 at 7:30 pm to raise funds for our historical and liturgical treasure while enjoying beautiful music of the season and classic Irish songs.
The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is proud to present a Benefit Concert, PIPES OF PRAISE, featuring Emmet Cahill “Ireland’s most exciting young tenor”. Proceeds from the show will go to the Repair and Restoration Campaign for the Basilica’s historic pipe organ, a fixture in the church, making beautiful music for the people of the parish and the city for more than 100 years.
The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, located just blocks from the Florida Theatre, is the historic downtown Catholic Church and a place of worship for Jacksonville Catholics for 175 years, and a part of many families’ special moments.
Emmet, along with his accompanist Seamus Brett, will provide an evening of Christmas classics like O Holy Night in anticipation of the Christmas season …but a concert with Emmet would not be complete without a few hymns and Irish favorites, along with a surprise or two. We are pleased that Emmet will be joined on stage by special guests, the Bishop Kenny Chorus.
Emmet Cahill, who hails from Mullingar, County Meath Ireland, has performed in concert in the US from coast to coast, including St Patrick’s Cathedral and his Carnegie Hall sell out debut. Emmet is no stranger to Jacksonville having performed here many times and is a great fan favorite. Since 2011 Emmet has also been the lead singer with the hugely popular Irish music phenomenon Celtic Thunder.
