Mary Pauline Dance Conservatory 33rd Annual Recital

The Mary Pauline Dance Conservatory is excited to bring the classical ballet version of Sleeping Beauty to life in Act I. Set to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the second of his three ballets. The ballet’s focus was on two main conflicting forces, good, the Lilac Fairy, and evil, Carabosse. The ballet begins with the christening of Princess Aurora. Unfortunately, Carabosse’s invitation is lost, and her anger rages. The fairies, along with our dancers, sweep in to protect her.
Act II will honor this beautiful country on its 250th Anniversary, “God Bless America” … land that I love, stand beside her, and guide her, thru the night with a light from above. Thirty-three years ago, I opened the studio with a whole lot of faith, trust and divine intervention, and I feel truly blessed to be able to share the art of dance with you and your children. The dancers will sweep the stage with tender waltzes, high-kicking legs, and fast shuffling feet.
